AZU Overview
The Association of Zimbabweans in Uganda (AZU) was formally approved on 11th August 2018 and officially registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau in the 1st Q on 2019. The registration of the Association was a positive step in establishing a formal recognized organization that serves the needs of Zimbabweans in Uganda as guided by a people driven constitution.
To foster greater understanding amongst Zimbabwean citizens resident in Uganda, persons of Zimbabwean heritage and other persons with family ties in Zimbabwe; it’s a forum for the exchange of ideas, experiences that promote social and cultural activities among Members; and mobilizes, rallies through lawful means available, resources and assistance for matters relating to culture, religion, economy, unity, transformation, gender, development, youth, social justice and economic well-being of all Zimbabweans in Uganda.
Our objectives are clear – to create and maintain a sustainable and effective non-political, non-religious association that would bring all Zimbabweans in Uganda together; and to assist or facilitate the wellbeing and welfare of Zimbabweans in Uganda by improving their standards of living.
- Family – Husband, Wife and children (no age limit) – (Ugx150,000 – Hundred and Fifty Thousand Uganda Shillings only).
- Single ordinary member 18yrs (non-family) (Ugx 75,000 – Seventy five thousand Uganda Shillings only).
- Tertiary student (18 Years and above) (Ugx 50, 000 – Fifty thousand Uganda Shillings only).
- Visitor (1 week to 3 months) (Ugx 50,000 Fifty thousand Uganda Shillings only).
- Invited Guests to an AZU organized event (Ugx 25,00 –Twenty five thousand Uganda Shillings per activity)
